Granite Countertops

Granite countertops are a premium choice renowned for their exceptional durability and natural, one-of-a-kind beauty. Formed by cooling magma, each slab boasts a unique pattern of colors and veining, adding timeless elegance and increased value to any kitchen or bathroom. This natural stone is highly resistant to heat and scratches, though it requires occasional sealing to maintain its resistance to stains and moisture.

Marble Countertops

Marble countertops are the ultimate statement of timeless luxury and sophistication. Famous for their elegant, flowing veining and bright natural colors, each slab provides a unique piece of art for your home, instantly boosting its appeal and value. While highly heat-resistant and durable, marble is a relatively soft, porous stone, making it susceptible to etching from acids and staining. It requires a commitment to regular sealing and gentle care to maintain its pristine appearance and classic patina.

Engineered Quartz Countertops

Engineered quartz countertops are a top-tier choice for modern, low-maintenance living. Created from a mix of natural quartz crystals, resins, and pigments, they offer a dense, non-porous surface that is highly resistant to stains, scratches, and bacteria. Unlike natural stone, they never require sealing and provide an extremely consistent look, with a vast array of colors and patterns—including convincing marble and granite mimics. While exceptionally durable, the resin binder makes them sensitive to extreme heat, requiring the use of trivets for hot pots.

Quartzite Countertops

Quartzite countertops offer a compelling blend of the luxurious look of marble with the resilience of granite. This natural metamorphic stone is formed under intense heat and pressure, resulting in a surface that is exceptionally hard and highly resistant to heat and scratches. Each slab is unique, featuring sophisticated, natural veining and a range of colors. Unlike engineered quartz, it is UV-resistant and can be used outdoors. However, as a natural stone, quartzite is porous and must be sealed annually to prevent staining and maintain its beauty.

Laminate Counterops

Laminate countertops are the ultimate budget-friendly choice, offering an affordable and highly versatile surface for any space. Constructed from layers of resin-impregnated paper laminated to a particleboard core, they are non-porous and exceptionally easy to clean, requiring zero sealing or special maintenance. Modern laminate boasts an immense variety of colors and patterns, successfully mimicking the high-end look of natural stone and wood at a fraction of the cost. However, the surface is vulnerable to scorching from extreme heat and is less resistant to deep scratches or chips than stone, making cutting boards and trivets essential.

Acrylic Solid Surface

Acrylic Solid Surface is a popular engineered material, made from a blend of acrylic polymers and natural minerals, that is prized for its balance of design flexibility and function. Its greatest advantage is its non-porous nature, which makes it highly sanitary, stain-resistant, and means it never needs sealing. Because the seams are nearly invisible, it creates a sleek, monolithic look, allowing for integrated sinks and custom shapes. While it is softer and more vulnerable to heat and scratches than natural stone or quartz, the material is fully renewable and repairable; minor damage can often be buffed or sanded out, restoring the surface to its original condition.

Recycled Material

Recycled Material countertops encompass a diverse and growing range of eco-friendly surfaces made by reclaiming and repurposing waste. These materials give new life to discarded items like recycled glass (embedded in resin or cement), reclaimed wood from old structures, recycled paper (compressed with resin), and even recycled plastic. The primary benefit is their sustainability, as they divert waste from landfills and reduce the demand for virgin resources. Aesthetically, they offer unique and highly customizable looks, often featuring a vibrant, speckled mosaic (like recycled glass) or the rich, storied character of reclaimed wood. Durability and maintenance vary significantly by the specific material (e.g., recycled glass is often highly durable and non-porous, while reclaimed wood requires periodic sealing).

Edges — The Perfect Finish

Did you know that the edge of your countertop is one ofyour countertop’s most prominent features and enhances your overall design? Your edges must integrate with the overall design of your room, especially the cabinets.

For example, a modern looking cabinet cannot have a traditional edge profile added to the countertops. Edge types are many: eased, bevel, bullnose, demi-bullnose, and mitered, to name a few. Our master craftsmen shape beautiful edges that are smooth and polished, with attention to safety.

Remnants – Getting The Most Out Of Your Surface Material

Let’s dispel the remnant myth! Remnants are not leftover, unwanted waste pieces from another project. Remnants actually work well for small projects (e.g., a vanity countertop, shelving, basement wet bar).

A pre-cut remnant piece will be closer to the size of your smaller surface, eliminating the need to cut a new, larger slab that would end up costing you more money. We are fastidious about the way we cut our slabs to reduce waste and reserve more surface that can be used for smaller projects, and we can pass off substantial savings to you.
